Security Technician – Full Time

Be part of a team delivering major security projects across South Australia.

AG Security Group is continuing to grow and we are looking for Security Technicians to join our projects team.

This is a hands-on installation role working alongside an experienced team across a range of security systems, technologies and project environments. You will have opportunities to develop your technical capability and take on greater responsibility as your experience grows.

About us
AG Security Group is South Australia's leading and largest privately owned security organisation, protecting Australians for more than 35 years.

We are a locally owned South Australian family business with a large team delivering security services and major projects across government, utilities, critical infrastructure and commercial environments.

As we continue to grow, we continue to invest in our people, technology, training, systems and capability, creating long-term opportunities for our people while delivering high-quality security solutions for our clients.

What you will be doing
As a Security Technician within our projects team, you will be installing security systems for major government and critical infrastructure clients across South Australia.

Your work will include:

  • Installing alarm, access control, CCTV and IP surveillance systems
  • Installing cabling and conduits and fitting off devices
  • Programming, testing and commissioning security systems appropriate to your experience
  • Upgrading and expanding existing security systems
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during project delivery
  • Working within an experienced team, receiving support when you need it and sharing your knowledge with others as your capability develops
  • You'll work across different systems, technologies and project environments. On-the-job development and technical training will be provided to help you build your knowledge and capability.

About you
You may already be an experienced Security Technician, or you may be earlier in your career and looking for the opportunity to continue developing your technical capability.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Experience installing security systems
  • Experience across alarm, access control, CCTV or IP surveillance systems
  • Good technical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound IT skills and an understanding of networks
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
  • A practical, safety-focused approach
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and undertake further training
  • A genuine interest in developing your career in the security industry

Experience, product training or certifications across systems such as Gallagher and/or Inner Range Integriti will be highly regarded, but we don't expect you to know every system we work with.

Still developing your experience?
We understand that great Security Technicians develop over time and we don't expect everyone to come to us with experience across every system or environment.

If you have got the right attitude, a good foundation and you're committed to developing your career in the security industry, we'd still encourage you to get in touch. We're happy to have a conversation about where you are at today and whether there could be an opportunity for you to develop with us.

Essentials
You will need:

  • South Australian Driver's Licence
  • South Australian Security Licence
  • ACMA Open Cabling Registration
  • White Card

What's in it for you?
We know that Security Technicians have choices and changing companies is an important decision. We want the work, conditions and opportunities at AG Security Group to make that decision worthwhile for you.

You will receive:

  • Competitive remuneration with regular salary reviews
  • Generous Living Away from Home Allowance
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Accommodation provided when working away
  • Modern, fully maintained company vehicle and fuel card
  • Smartphone and laptop
  • Uniforms and PPE
  • Paid parental leave
  • Ongoing technical and professional training
  • Opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career
  • Support from an established and experienced team
  • Regular team functions and catch-ups
  • The stability of an established South Australian business with long-term project work

You'll work alongside experienced people who take pride in their work and support each other to get the job done well.

About our regional work
We want to be upfront about this part of the role as well.

A significant component of our project work is across regional South Australia. Depending on the project, this can mean travelling from Adelaide on Monday, working away during the week and returning Friday. At other times, you'll work across metropolitan Adelaide or undertake shorter periods of regional travel.

When you're working away, AG Security Group provides your accommodation and pays a generous Living Away from Home Allowance.

If you enjoy project work, don't mind travelling and value the additional earning opportunities that regional work provides, this can be a rewarding part of the role.
